Welcome to all who are visiting this exciting new platform – your gateway to finding things and getting things done in and around Yzerfontein.

It can be frustratingly difficult to find what you need in small towns.  The idea for this website was born from a need – a service was needed, information was hard to find and widely distributed across numerous Facebook groups, causing some serious digging.  Eventually, after some calling around, we found the service provider that we needed.

The technological advances of our time have spoiled us with information being at hand within seconds, 24/7/365.  We’ve adapted our lives and our ways – intentionally or unintentionally (some of us old dragons pretend we still want to live in the past) accordingly, so: what would we do without our mobile phones, Google Maps, and WhatsApp Groups and online yellow pages?  If we want to know something, we want to know it now – finish & klaar!

Firstly, this website is an attempt to satisfy that need for “I need to know now” by bringing all the answers to questions posted in various online channels, together under one roof and making them available to everyone with this difference:  you don’t have to ask – just search and you will find.

While we’re still growing our listings, that last bit will still be tricky, but trust us we’re working on it!

Secondly, we would prefer keeping listings local, however, with Yzerfontein being the lovely, cosy little hamlet that it is, many products and services are simply not available in Yzerfontein itself, and some local service providers are not always able to keep up with demand – some prefer to stay one-man-bands or micro businesses. So, to help with this situation, this platform aims to offer more service providers to choose from and introduce those that are not available in Yzerfontein, but perhaps just next door in Darling, Langebaan, Malmesbury, or further afield.

On competition: We are aware that in any small town, local service providers are fiercely protected and competition can be stiff, however, amazing partnerships are formed between and amongst competing businesses every day – successfully. Our point of view is that we’re all clients and customers of one another in the West Coast area, and supporting one another is crucial in the economic circumstances that we find ourselves in right now and for the foreseeable future.

So again, welcome.  We hope that this website and our intentions are received in good faith and that we will all be able to work together to get everything we need in Yzerfontein, quickly.
